Teaching for environments where the rules keep changing

Teaching & Executive Education

Professionals do not need another person reciting definitions they can find online.

They need to learn how to make decisions when platforms change, technology changes and the available data does not provide an obvious answer. That is what I teach.

From practice to classroom—and back again

Teaching sharpens practice because explanation demands precision.

I am an instructor at UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies, teaching professionals and international learners in areas including digital marketing and influencer marketing.

Students ask different questions. They encounter technologies without the assumptions experienced marketers have accumulated. Explaining why something works forces greater precision than simply knowing how to do it.

Teaching makes the advisory work better. Practice keeps the teaching current.

I develop curriculum around the problems marketers actually encounter: audience behavior, strategy, influence, measurement, technology, trust and the difference between activity and business outcomes.

Areas I teach

Build judgment for the decisions that do not have a clean answer key.

01

Digital Marketing Strategy

Connecting audience behavior, channels, positioning and business outcomes.

02

Influencer & Creator Marketing

Understanding influence, disclosure, credibility, platform behavior and effectiveness.

03

Influence, Trust & Authority

Examining why attention is not influence and how credibility affects action.

04

Marketing Measurement

Distinguishing activity and engagement from business impact.

05

Consumer Behavior

Understanding how people discover information, evaluate expertise and make decisions.

06

AI & Changing Practice

Building professional judgment as tools, workflows and the value of expertise change.

07

Digital Transformation

Working through the organizational implications of technology-driven change.

08

Professional Judgment

Making defensible decisions in environments where platforms and evidence keep moving.

Executive education

The objective is not simply knowledge transfer. It is better decisions.

Programs can be shaped for experienced professionals and leadership teams working in environments that are changing faster than traditional curriculum.

Focused Sessions

Workshops, leadership sessions and conference education.

Custom Learning

Executive education, custom curriculum and professional-development programs.

Academic Formats

Guest lectures, emerging-topic programs and classroom collaboration.

University and institutional collaboration

A practitioner-educator perspective for programs being built around emerging questions.

My current university teaching is one part of a broader practitioner-educator practice.

I am interested in collaborating with universities, professional-education organizations and institutions developing programs around marketing, influence, trust, AI, professional adaptation and related topics.
