About Jennifer

Strategist. Educator. Advisor.

About Jennifer

My career has been shaped by industries that refused to stand still.

I have spent more than two decades working through changes in media, technology, marketing, healthcare and professional expertise rather than observing them from the sidelines.

Jennifer Neeley, strategist, educator and advisor
The industries are different. The underlying question is surprisingly consistent: when the environment changes, what still matters?

A career built across categories

Working where established rules meet structural change.

I began in journalism, when traditional media still largely controlled how information reached the public. Then digital changed distribution. Social media changed who could publish. Platforms changed who could build audiences. Influencers changed who held persuasive power. AI is now changing what it means to create, know, communicate and claim expertise.

My work has crossed journalism, technology, digital marketing, social media, agencies, consulting, healthcare, fertility, fractional executive leadership and university education.

The connective tissue

Growth. Influence. Trust.

Three questions connect much of the work, whether the audience is an executive team, an experienced professional or a classroom.

Growth

Does activity create meaningful business value?

Influence

Does visibility actually change perception or behavior?

Trust

Why should someone believe, choose or act?

Practitioner + educator

Practice keeps the teaching current. Teaching makes the practice more precise.

I teach digital and influencer marketing at UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies while continuing to advise organizations and professionals confronting the next set of changes.

Real-world work exposes new problems. Teaching forces me to explain them. Students challenge assumptions. Research raises better questions. Those questions return to advisory work.

What I am exploring now

Questions created by the next structural shift.

01

Human Expertise

What remains uniquely valuable when execution and information become easier to automate?

02

Authority & Influence

How does expertise become authority, and when does authority become influence?

03

Trust & AI

What happens to trust when expertise becomes easier to simulate?

04

Professional Value

How does AI change the economics of professional services and the value of judgment?

05

Generational Experience

How do different generations respond to changing technology, authority and communication?

06

Automation & Strategy

How should organizations distinguish what can be automated from what should be protected?

Independent inquiry
