For organizations, investors and leadership teams
Strategic Advisory
Senior judgment for organizations where visibility, growth and trust have stopped lining up.
I advise founders, executives and leadership teams when visibility is not becoming trusted action, growth is not matching activity, or the organization needs a better decision before it buys more execution.
- Growth, positioning and business impact
- Influence, authority and trust
- Marketing leadership through change
When organizations bring me in
More marketing is not always the answer.
Sometimes the organization is already producing content, running campaigns, hiring agencies, adopting technology and generating attention. The problem is that those activities are not producing the business results leadership expected.
My role is to help leaders determine what matters, what should change, what should be preserved and where additional execution will actually create value.
Marketing activity has increased without corresponding growth.
Visibility is strong, but conversion, adoption or pipeline is not.
Marketing, communications and business strategy have drifted apart.
AI is changing marketing faster than the organization can determine what is useful.
Agency, vendor or staffing models no longer make obvious economic sense.
Leadership needs experienced outside judgment before another major investment.
The questions behind the work
Simple questions can have expensive consequences when they are answered incorrectly.
What are we actually trying to change?
Are we solving a visibility, influence or conversion problem?
What should AI accelerate—and where does human judgment matter more?
Are we measuring activity or business impact?
Not sure whether the problem is positioning, trust, discoverability, conversion or measurement? The diagnostic will help you identify where to look first.

The issue may look like marketing. The decision often sits somewhere deeper.
I help leadership see where positioning, audience behavior, capability, investment, execution and trust are reinforcing each other, and where they are quietly working against each other.
Growth & Marketing Strategy
For moments when dashboards show activity but the business is not feeling the corresponding impact. We examine where strategy has fragmented, teams are optimizing the wrong signals, or execution has moved ahead of decision-making.

The Neeley Trust Framework
Attention is not the same as influence. And neither guarantees action.
Trust becomes commercially important when it changes whether people listen, believe, adopt, recommend or act. I use the relationship among influence, integrity and impact to help leaders see where credibility is creating value—and where it may be quietly constraining growth.
How I work
I begin with the business problem, not a predetermined channel, campaign, platform or technology.
The work starts by clarifying the evidence, the assumptions and the decision that has become stuck. Then we determine what actually needs to change.
01
Diagnose
Define the real business problem, distinguish symptoms from causes and identify the evidence leadership actually has.
02
Decide
Pressure-test assumptions, evaluate options and clarify what should change, what should remain and what should stop.
03
Align
Translate the decision into priorities, capability choices and an actionable path that leaders and teams can use.
I am not an outsourced production department, and I do not recommend more execution simply because more execution can be purchased.
- Diagnose a marketing or growth problem
- Pressure-test an existing strategy
- Advise on a high-stakes decision
- Evaluate agencies, vendors or capabilities
- Develop positioning or market strategy
- Provide fractional executive leadership
- Identify visibility-to-performance gaps
- Translate complexity into an actionable path
“What does the new thing actually change—and what remains strategically important?”
Experience across change
My perspective comes partly from having worked through multiple structural changes in media and marketing rather than encountering disruption for the first time with AI.
My career began in journalism and broadcast media and moved through digital media, early social strategy, agencies, high-growth technology, independent consulting, healthcare, fractional leadership, university education and the creator economy.
Each shift changed what organizations valued, how audiences behaved and what professionals needed to know. That experience shapes how I approach change now.
Engagements
Start with the level of involvement the decision actually requires.
The right structure depends on whether you need a focused second opinion, ongoing counsel, hands-on leadership or a working session with the team.
Strategic Consultation
For a defined decision, problem or second opinion where senior outside judgment can create clarity quickly.
Strategic Advisory
Ongoing counsel for executives and organizations navigating growth, positioning, trust, marketing or change.
Fractional / Interim Leadership
Hands-on senior marketing leadership during a defined period of transition, restructuring or growth.
Workshops & Executive Sessions
Focused working sessions for leadership teams examining marketing strategy, influence, trust, AI-driven change or organizational capability.
Not sure which structure fits? Start with the decision or challenge. The appropriate format can follow.

The guide uses only the approved answers on this page. The full questions remain available alongside it.
Do you replace an agency or internal marketing team?
Usually not. I often operate one level above execution: helping leadership determine whether the strategy, capabilities, partners and investments make sense before asking teams to execute more of them.
Are you an AI consultant?
No. I advise on how AI and other structural changes affect marketing strategy, expertise, customer behavior, organizational capability and competitive advantage. I do not sell AI implementation, prompt engineering or generic AI training.
Do you work with startups?
Yes, when the problem requires senior strategic judgment and the organization is ready for it. My experience includes startups, growth-stage companies, established organizations, healthcare businesses and expert-led brands.
Do you work directly with investors?
Potentially. Investors, boards and portfolio leaders can use my perspective to evaluate marketing strategy, positioning, capabilities, growth assumptions or the marketing implications of organizational change across individual investments or portfolios.
Can you work with an existing CMO?
Yes. An experienced outside perspective can be particularly valuable when a marketing leader needs a confidential strategic sounding board, independent assessment or specialized perspective.
The next marketing investment should not automatically be more marketing.
If your organization is facing a growth, positioning, trust or transformation problem and the answer is not obvious, that is usually a good place to begin.
