Stowe Boyd, By Brian Solis

This week on The A-List, I am excited to welcome Stowe Boyd, international authority on social tools and futurist.

With the iPad hype this week, it seems like the perfect time to discuss the tools that run on our digital devices – new and old.

In addition to his other accomplishments, Stowe is launching a series of webinars, is the president of the Microsyntax.org non-profit, and director of the related 301Works.org initiative of the Internet Archive and is developing a conference with Jeff Pulver called Social Business Edge.

There’s much to talk about!

Learn more about Stowe from his bio:

I am known internationally as an authority on social tools and their impact on media, business, and society. I work as an analyst, advisor, futurist, and researcher, and I am principally known these days for my writing at /Message, this blog. I’ve spoken widely on the social revolution on the Web at venues such as Web 2.0. Enterprise 2.0, Next, mesh, Reboot, 140 Characters, Lift, Les Blogs, Shift, Futuresonic, Defrag, Supernova, and many others. My work falls into several domains, all of which are mutually reinforcing:

  • I advise companies that are involved in the development of social tools, primarily startups but occasionally a larger, more well-established firm. This generally takes place over several quarters, or longer, and involves an ongoing strategic involvement in product direction.
  • Occasionally I work with firms on a more tactical consulting basis, like a short-term product assessment, or a workshop on social architecture.
  • Speaking, at conferences and corporate meetings, is becoming a larger fraction of my work.
  • I am launching a series of webinars, starting in February 2010.
  • I am president of the Microsyntax.org non-profit, and director of the related 301Works.org initiative of the Internet Archive.
  • I am developing a conference with Jeff Pulver called Social Business Edge, planned for April 2010 in NYC.
