If you are free on Thursday from 6:00-9:00, here’s a great way to start your year…

Eastwick’s very own Barbara Bates (one of my ‘big bosses’) is teaming with the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and Executives (FWE&E) for a session about building and communicating your personal brand.

Barbara and fellow panelists Patty Azzarello and Nilofer Merchant will share personal insights and experiences about the value of creating a personal brand and how to go about doing it.

Barbara will also talk about how one can go about developing a personal platform for communication that is authentic and compelling – and helps you get noticed by the people who matter.

The event takes place on Thursday, January 29th, from 6:00-9:00 PM at SAP in Palo Alto. The cost is $40 for Members; $65 for Non FWE&E Members.

I’ve included a description of the event below for your reference. The disruptions and change we are all feeling given the current economy is a good reminder that nothing is certain – this event is a great opportunity to build on the one thing we can control – our own personal brand.

Investing in creating a Personal Brand will give you an advantage by allowing you to maximize your visibility and reputation, be a more effective leader, and feel more fulfilled in your work. • Proactively manage what you are known for
  • Tune your job to maximize your unique gifts

Once you’ve determined who you are and what you want your personal brand to be, how can you find your voice and create visibility for yourself inside and outside your organization? You will hear ideas for:

  • developing a communications platform that reflects your brand
  • learn tips and tricks on how to increase your profile
  • hear success stories about leaders who have been effective at using thought leadership to build their own brands, as well as the brands of their companies.

Our presenters will share practical experiences of creating their own personal brands and how they used it to achieve success. Learn how to position yourself for maximum success and get more satisfaction from your work in 2009!
