This week we’re wrapping up the LeWeb conference, held December 9th and 10th in Paris, France.

It might have been a bit dreary and wet, but when it’s Paris, who can complain?

You might be asking yourself, ‘why this big deal around LeWeb?’ Well, it’s a huge deal, actually. When you consider the Internet is something almost all of us have in common, I feel it’s important to reach as many key influencers outside the US as in it. To see what trends the market is responding to and the approach companies in Europe and elsewhere are taking to meet coming needs.

LeWeb is the largest conference of its kind – more than 2,000 people from across the globe came in to attend – and even one queen – Queen Raina of Jordan with her 1GOAL initative. But we’ll get to that in a bit.

I was very lucky to be joined by Maile Cannon, a fellow alum of Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism, who is finishing up a joint program with Columbia and attended the conference as a student.

My thanks to Maile – and congratulations on snagging a photo of Queen Raina!

Truth be told, my computer crashed when I walked into the main plenary area of the conference hall and went to start up my computer. But I still managed to get a fair number of interviews and some key ‘gets’ I wanted to be able to bring to this show.

How?

Well, it’s all thanks to a wonderful new app you must check out from BlogTalkRadio’s sister in broadcasting, Cinch.

Thanks to Alan, Amy and the whole BlogTalkRadio team, I was able to bring an iPhone with me with the app installed and ready. It ran of the conference’s WiFi, so no data charges – and because I was just carrying a phone, interviees seemed much calmer and relaxed… as I hope you’ll hear in this program.

Thanks for going on this journey with me to LeWeb. I hope to be able to bring a bigger and better program to you next year from the 2010 LeWeb conference.

Programming Note: This is our last program before the holidays. We’re back on January 8th, 2009 with Dave Morgan, CEO of Stimulmedia. We actually have a pretty exciting lineup throughout the new year – be listening for Seth Godin, Charlene Li and Shel Israel, among others!
